About Camphill - Living
More about Camphill...
Being part of a Camphill community involves sharing life with others at home, school, college or work, and in social, cultural and spiritual activities. Individual needs and wishes are balanced with those of others, independence with interdependence, self fulfilment with mutual support. Being an integral part of a community brings confidence, self respect and the knowledge that each individual’s contribution to community life is valued by others. Each Camphill community is different. Some are large - villages in themselves - others are small with just two or three houses.
They can be in towns and cities, surrounded by neighbours, or in quiet and lovely rural locations. Home might be an individual flat or a shared house with support close at hand. It might be a house community where staff and volunteers share life with those they support. There is such a variety of ways of living in Camphill communities that there is something to suit most people.
